Privacy policy
Short version: the app collects nothing, and the website only keeps your email if you join the waitlist.
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This policy covers two things: the Crop Goblin app for Mac, and this website, cropgoblin.com.
The app
Crop Goblin does not collect, store or share any personal data.
Screen contents. Crop Goblin reads your screen only when you press its capture shortcut or choose Capture from its menu. Captured images stay on your Mac. They are never uploaded.
File names. On Macs with Apple Intelligence, Crop Goblin can suggest a file name from what a screenshot shows. It reads the screenshot’s text and the app and window it came from, and asks Apple’s on-device model for a short title. This happens entirely on your Mac; nothing is sent anywhere. You can turn it off in Settings.
Files. Screenshots are written only where you choose: the clipboard, a file you save, or a file you drag into another app. The “Recent Saves” menu keeps a reference to your last ten saved files so you can find them again. It doesn’t keep copies, and it forgets files that have been moved or deleted.
Purchases. Crop Goblin Pro is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the payment; Crop Goblin only receives confirmation that the purchase is valid.
Analytics. None. Crop Goblin contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and makes no network requests of its own.
The website
No tracking. cropgoblin.com uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts or fonts. Our host, Fly.io, keeps standard server logs (IP address, page requested, browser) for a short time to keep the site running and secure.
The waitlist. If you join the launch waitlist, we store your email address, when you signed up and whether you confirmed it. We use it for exactly two emails: one asking you to confirm, and one when Crop Goblin launches. Email is sent through Mailjet, which processes your address only to deliver those messages.
- If you don’t confirm within 7 days, your address is deleted.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link. Using it deletes your address straight away.
- The whole waitlist is deleted 90 days after launch.
- We never sell, share or reuse the list for anything else.
You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at any time.
